What’s next?

"No, I won't wear my medal all day at work today, honey."

I woke up this morning feeling worlds better than I did after the last marathon. It’s a gorgeous day and I actually feel capable of walking to work this morning. My hips took the brunt of the downhill yesterday and really hurt last night, but feel completely fine today. It’s just general stiffness, now, and a nasty water blister on the side of my right foot.

I wondered if I would want to run another marathon after this one, and I do, I do, I do. I’m going to do the Maine Marathon again, because I like waking up in my own bed on marathon morning. And I want a chance at getting a “better” PR this time around, something I can count on if I do the same course again.

If I do the Maine Marathon, the next 18-week training cycle starts … next Monday. That’s not much rest, but the first 4 weeks of training are only 20-25 mile weeks.

I’d write more, but its time to go to work. Happy Monday, everyone!
