Why am I so tired?

Wow, I went to write this blog post and I went to the link to start writing a new story for my work CMS. That’s a sign that I’ve been working a lot lately.

I have been SO abnormally TIRED lately. It’s been going on for at least two and a half weeks now, since the beginning of April. I can’t decide if its a problem caused by training or something else, because I’m not willing to stop running to find out.

Example A: Every run I’ve done since the half-marathon has been about 30 seconds to 2 minutes slower than my average run.

Example B: Running brings me no joy.

Example C: I’ve slept 9-12 hours every day for the past several days and I still wake up tired.

Maybe its running, or maybe its allergies. I hear that they are supposed to be worse than ever this year. I have fallen victim to terrible allergies most years since becoming an adult. They were bad last year. I take Claritin but it doesn’t seem to help the problem much. Maybe this year will be the year I break down and go to the allergist.

I had a 5 mile run today and I skipped it. For lame reasons. But I don’t feel bad about it, because I can make it up on Friday and I feel so tired today.

Yes, I’m drinking a beer in the photo. But just one. And its really, really tasty.

We bought it in Brunswick the day I got my half-marathon PR. Maybe it will rub some happy fast-running fairy dust on me.

My biceps burned today and I couldn’t figure out why. And then driving home,  I remembered I ran with a water bottle in my hand yesterday. Hey! Maybe that’s a way to build upper body strength.

I do not remember slumping this bad in the last marathon training. But things were a little different, then. I had friends training with me. It wasn’t during allergy season. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still get through this … I’m just … in a slump right now.
