Haircut and pie

So, got a haircut today.

I had to reschedule my appointment with my hairdresser a couple of times, causing me to get very shaggy in the past few weeks. I was ready for a cut!

Please excuse the somewhat creepy bathroom light. It seemed like as good a place as I was going to get to take a picture.

I told the stylist that I wanted to grow my hair out, but now I’m having second thoughts. So I paid $50 for a cut that is does not really look very different than the way I did before I walked in the salon today.

This is more or less how I looked before the haircut.

Long hair is just such a chore. Especially with any kind of exercise plan, because then washing up is not a quick and easy task. I like this haircut because it practically styles itself. 🙂 But I’m afraid if I don’t grow my hair out now I won’t ever have long young beautiful hair again.

Also, yes, I know, wtf was I thinking wearing a leopard print scarf with a plaid jacket …

I’ve been on a couponing and cooking kick lately. Hey! Live in the Lewiston area and are interested in couponing? The Sun Journal is doing a Coupon Expo next weekend.

Anyway, totally bought $100 worth of groceries this week for < $60. And a good part of it was produce! I feel like someone should high-five me when I go through the line at the check out with a conveyer belt full of vegetables. I know my nutrition, guys.

I made the apple-carrot soup last night and tonight I made fajitas. Afterwards I tried Run Eat Repeat’s Healthy Pumpkin Pie. It’s totally easy — crust, butterscotch pudding mix, Greek yogurt, pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice.

Pumpkin pie spice is actually just a mix of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. So that’s what I did, since I was too cheap to buy a $5 jar of spice I’ll never use.

The verdict isn’t out on this yet. Monica’s recipe calls for sugar-free butterscotch pudding and I wish I just sprung for the real sugar stuff. It’s not like its anywhere near the calories of real pumpkin pie anyway. I’ll wait until the pie solidifies before I judge …

Second post in a row with nothing to do about running. For shame. Quickly, today’s workout:

  • Run to the gym (~5 minutes)
  • 50 jumping jacks warm-up (cause the run was short)
  • 3 sets of
    • 20 lower back extensions
    • 20 sit-ups
    • 20 second planks
    • 20 squats
  • And a nice walk home (~10 minutes)
