Today has 7 miles on the schedule, but I am totally taking a rest day in preparation for tomorrow’s half … and lack of will power to spend 80 minutes on a treadmill watching CNN.

So, uh, I don’t know if you guys noticed, but its really ‘effin hot outside.

Me and my 25-ounce CamelBak water bottle have been good friends lately. I swear I down 3 or 4 bottles full a day and I still don’t feel totally hydrated. Make sure you’re getting plenty of water!

I’ve been feeling kinda down lately (couldn’t you tell?). I read this blog post — 75 Reminders for Tough Times — and it said a lot of things that made me feel better. My favorites:

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Forgiveness is one of the primary keys to happiness.

In times of great stress, it’s always wise to keep busy, to plow your anger and frustration into something positive.

No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.

One thing is for sure: Regardless of the situation, life goes on.
