I feel like I have to apologize that this matters to me. But, umm, this is a blog! It’s OK to be vain and let this matter.

The chip time for the LA Duathlon was totally off. I used my watch to time my splits and, as you can see in the picture, the watch was mostly right until the last leg, where there is this mysterious 6-minute discrepancy.

I thought I was going crazy until I confirmed that a girl who I am totally and completely sure that I passed was way ahead of me, with a time of 1:43 (which you can see is about what I thought I had). I know I passed her. It was right at the end, that last one tenth of a mile where you know that you’re soaring. She did not beat me by six minutes.

So I’m going to go ahead and say that I ran a 24:53 5K. Even though that seems totally illogical to me. Whatever. I had an awesome day.
