So, my new favorite thing, as introduced to me by Carrots ‘N’ Cake, is almond milk. It has 60% of the calories that milk does, no saturated fat, and the same amount of calcium.

Milk, cheese and butter are very near and dear to my heart. I do not think you can replace these things with foods that are anywhere near equals in flavor or savor factor. I’d rather eat real butter and run longer than … not.

Almond milk is different, though. I was apprehensive because milk substitutes are usually way too sweet, and the texture is off, but you can almost buy the milk-like qualities of almond milk.

Here I am with my regular hot chocolate. I made it with a cup of almond milk, a sugar substitute and fat-free whipped cream, so this delicious cup of sweet deliciousness weighs in at a mere 80 calories and tastes almost as good.

I also made Tina’s flourless oatmeal peanut butter cookies. There isn’t a lot of sugar in them, so I think calling them cookies is a stretch … but hey! No guilt factor, right? We can just eat all 12 of them tonight … nom nom nom …
